Before You Play:

Dune Rush is a fast-paced 3D infinite runner where you play as Loria, racing across endless desert dunes to escape a strange, unstoppable bear. Dodge obstacles, grab golden coins, and stay ahead of the chase. The sands are always shifting. How far can you go before the beast catches up?

How to Play:

  • Tap A/D or Left/Right to dodge obstacles
  • Collect coins to unlock power-ups & skins
  • Outrun the beast as it grows faster over time

Game Description:

Loria, a young explorer, found a glowing amulet in ancient ruins near a fountain. When she touched it, the earth cracked, freeing a cursed Brown Bear. Now it hunts her chasing across the sand. With the amulet stuck to her wrist, Loria must run not just to live, but to find how to break the curse before the bear’s fury destroys them both.

Devlog:

Hey fellow gamers and developers! This is part of my college project—a 3D infinite runner. It’s been a unique experience. Although the game looks simple, making it infinite requires great technique. While there are many ways to build a 3D runner, I chose the classic method: keeping the player fixed and moving the platforms.

Project Takeaways:

  • Generating infinite play area: Created a seamless, never-ending game environment.
  • Event delegate: To create flexible, decoupled communication between scripts, particularly useful for animation events, gameplay triggers, or UI interactions
  • Robust UI: Designed a strong and user-friendly interface.
  • Animation Layering: Use of Layers in the Animator Controller to blend/override animations.
